I am an Account Supervisor with good knowledge of digital media. Looking for an AS or SAE position with the right company.
What degrees do you have and where are they from?
BA, Advertising: Boston University, 2004. GPA: 3.7
Would you be willing to relocate?
I’m open to options, but seeing as I moved to NYC because it’s an advertising mecca, I hope it doesn’t come to that!
How did you end up losing your job?
We lost the account I was on… cost-cutting on their end. Some of us who had worked on the account were marginalized.
What’s been the most frustrating aspect of your job search?
You have to jump through hoops as an applicant, only to find the company is paying nothing and has no talent or vision anyway. I wish these firms would save me the trouble and state from the beginning that they just want a body and that’s all they’re willing to pay for. Experienced people like myself wouldn’t bother to apply and they’d have less applications to sift thru.
Why would a company want to hire you?
I have good knowledge of internet advertising such as social media and affiliate marketing. You don’t often find that in non-digital advertising employees. And of course I’m also ready and willing to put in 80 hour workweeks. Stick a sofa in my office and I’m happy!
What’s the most fun you’ve had during unemployment?
Ask me in a few weeks….. still trying to figure out unemployment money right now.
Got any advice for your fellow UberEmployables?
I know so many people out of work. Everyone is looking at the jobs you’re looking at, TRUST ME. Find another way to get noticed, however you can.
